The Hurricane Ridge ride was a success. Four hardy souls and
a guest set out on Sunday at 6:10am on the the MV Coho. We had a great time,
lots of sweat and laughs. This was my first HR ride. We will try to put
another one on next year. The weather could not have been better. We had fog
and overcast conditions at the start. We left that behind as we approached
the toll booth. The trip cost me just under $50.00us-$64.00can. This also
includes lunch. Definitely worth it!! The ride was of epic proportions it
made me a mere mortal human. The pros do three of these climbs in one stage
in the TDF!
Once we got to the toll booth our guest cracked our group like an
egg. Dale and Bruce were hot after Jamie whom was virtually unstopable he
put a 15 minute gap on Bruce. Who was the second one up to the top and 1st
club member to the top!!! Dale was not too far behind. "Way to go Dale!!"
Brian P. and I brought up the rear. We all know Brian is
saving himself for the island cup mtb race next weekend. The ride down was
just as fun as the way up. We were all sitting down and ordering food by
noon. We said our goodbyes to Hurricane Ridge, and caught the 12:45pm boat
home. For those members who could not make it this year! Hopefully, we will
see you next year !
