As part of the Victoria Cycling League(VCL) the Schwalbe Cycling Club hosts the races at Caleb Pike ,in the Highlands. As a member club of Cycling British Columbia(CBC) the Club is obligated to abide by the rules and regulations as set out by CBC. This also applies to individual members. One of the key requirements of member clubs who host cycling events is to ensure that all participants are properly insured. Insurance is for the protection of both the racers and the organizers of these events. There are a number of ways to obtain insurance that will qualify one to participate at the racing events hosted by the Schwalbe Cycling Club. To assist racers to identify the various insurance options we have provided a brief summary below for ease of reference.Please note that CBC is the official source to verify rules/regulations and that it is CBC who is to be contacted to obtain racing licences.www.cyclingbc.net
The following criteria MUST be met to race at Schwalbe Clycing Club hosted events such as Caleb Pike:
1) You currently hold a CAA/UCI Cycling BC race licence or a Citizen race licence, or
2) You are currently a member of the Schwalbe Cycling Club with a Cycling BC Associate Club Member or alternatively have one of the race licences noted in 1) above ,or
3) You are currently an Associate Club Member of another member club of Cycling BC but you purchase a One-Event race licence ($10) on race day when you register for the event,or
4) You are not a member of any member club and do not have a race licence as noted in 1) above but you purchase a One -Event race licence ($30) on race day when you register for the event.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
a) ALL racers MUST bring licences/membership proof to the first race.If you haven’t received your licence/membership card from CBC then bring your payment receipt to the first race registration. You MUST provide proof of insurance.
b) The One-Event Insurance is valid ONLY for Canadian Residents who are covered under a Federal or Provincial Hospital or Medical Plan. You MUST bring current picture identification to the registration.
c) For those in either category 3) or 4) above we suggest that you consider buying a Citizens Licence from CBC before the first race of the season. For those that already have an Associate Membership you just apply to CBC to upgrade to a citizens Licence.

e) One-Event forms are available at race day registration. Please arrive early if you will be utizing this form to race.
